Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon Half-Day Small-Group Tour from Athens

1.Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon Half-Day Small-Group Tour from Athens

★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · 3,205 reviews · 5 to 6 hours (approx.) · from $42Our pick

Travel from central Athens in an air-conditioned minivan, stopping at Lake Vouliagmeni and, from early May to late October, Sounio Beach. At Cape Sounion, your guide introduces the fifth-century BC Temple of Poseidon before free time to explore. Hotel pickup is included in central Athens. The temple ticket costs €20 extra.

“The pickup was smooth, with Katerina meeting us at a meeting point just a few minutes walk from our hotel. The stop-off at Lake Vouliagmeni was a welcome break, and we had plenty of time to look around the Temple of Poseidon. We were very lucky on the day as the weather was beautiful, so the light was wonderful for pictures at sunset. Towards the end of the trip the road is a bit twisty, so my daughter felt travel sick, the stop off to view the temple from a distance was very welcome. Katerina was very nice and informative, and gave the trip a fun, relaxed feel.”

“Fantastic day trip to get out of the city chaos. Our guide Julia was awesome, charming, sweet, and very informative. The bus was very comfortable with impressive wifi on board, didn't drop during the whole trip. You are given 2 hours and 15 minutes to see delphi's ruins and the museum next door. At first I thought that it would be rushed but we felt we saw both sites with a nice pace. I'd recommend to hike up the mountain to the stadium in one go, then decend slowly and take all the breathtaking photos you want and enjoy the different stunning views. The tour also included a tour guide…”
